ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบกายวิภาคศาสตร์เนื้อเยื่อชั้นผิวใบของพืชวงศ์ลั่นทม(Apocynaceae) ในประเทศไทยจำนวน 23 สกุล 32 ชนิด โดยวิธีการลอกผิวพบลักษณะทั่วไปคือ 1) ผิวเคลือบคิวทินเป็นริ้วยาวเป็นปุ่ม และเรียบ 2) รูปร่างของเซลล์ในเนื้อเยื่อชั้นผิวหลายเหลี่ยมหรือแบบจิ๊กซอว์ผนังเซลล์ตรงหรือหยักลึก 3) ชนิดของปากใบเป็นแบบพาราไซติก พาราเททระไซติก ไซโคลไซติกแอนไอโซไซติกอะโนโมไซติก เฮกซะไซติก แอคทิโนไซติก และเททระไซติก 4) ชนิดของไทรโคมเป็นแบบขนเซลล์เดียวขนหลายเซลล์ หนามเกิดจากผิว และปุ่มเล็ก 5) ชนิดของสารสะสมเป็นผลึกรูปปริซึมผลึกรูปดาว และท่อหลั่งสาร ลักษณะกายวิภาคศาสตร์เนื้อเยื่อชั้นผิวใบที่สามารถนำไปใช้ระบุพืชบางชนิดได้แก่ รูปร่างเซลล์ ผนังเซลล์ ชนิดของปากใบ และชนิดของไทรโคม อย่างไรก็ตามไม่สามารถใช้ลักษณะดังกล่าวจัดกลุ่มเพื่อสนับสนุนระบบการจำแนกของ Endress & Bruyns (2000) ได้

        Comparative anatomy of leaf epidermis of 23 genera and 32 species of Apocynaceae in Thailand was examined by leaf epidermal peeling. General characteristics of the family are as follows: 1) cuticles are striate, papillose and smooth, 2) the shapes of epidermal cells are polygonal or jigsaw-like, cell walls are straight or cleft, 3) the types of stomata are paracytic, paratetracytic, cyclocytic, anisocytic, anomocytic, hexacytic, actinocytic and tetracytic, 4) the types of trichome are unicellular hair, multicellular hair, prickle hair and papillae, 5) the types of inclusion are prismatic crystal, druse crystal and secretory duct. Leaf epidermal features can be used to identify some studied species, which are shapes and cell wall, stomata and trichome types. However, these characters cannot be usedto grouping for support the classification of Endress and Bruyns (2000).
