บทคัดย่อ:

     The research objective was to study micropropagation of Curcuma pitukii Maknoi, Saensouk, Rakarcha & Thammar. from seeds. For seed germination, the seeds were soaked in gibberellic acid (GA3) solution at different concentrations (0 (control), 300, 600 and 900 mg/L) for 24 hrs. The highest percentage of seed germination was 65.2% and the lowest germination time was 11 days when seeds were soaked in 600 mg/L GA3 solution. For shoot multiplication, explants were cultured on Murashige & Skoog (MS) media containing various concentrations of benzyl adenine (BA), kinetin (Kn) and isopentenyladenine (2iP) with or without α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). It was found that explants cultured on the media supplemented with different concentrations of cytokinins with NAA could induce shoot multiplication better than the media supplemented with cytokinins alone. Thehighest average number of shoots was 5.3±0.72 shoots/explant when cultured on MS medium supplemented with 3 mg/L BA combination with 0.5 mg/L NAA. For rooting, 0.5mg/L NAA was more efficient in the number of roots (12.7±2.17 roots) produced than other treatments.
