การศึกษาพืชวงศ์ขิงในอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ภูพระบาทอำเภอบ้านผือ จังหวัดอุดรธานี พบจำนวน 3 เผ่า 7 สกุล และ 18 แทกซา ในจำนวนนี้มีหลายชนิดที่มีความสำคัญต่อการนำมาใช้ประโยชน์  โดยนำมาประกอบเป็นอาหาร เครื่องเทศ ยาสมุนไพรน้ำหอม และเป็นไม้ดอกไม้ประดับ เช่น Alpinia galanga, A. siamensis, Boesenbergia rotunda, Curcuma angustifolia และ C. singularis ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้จัดทำข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับชื่อพื้นเมืองช่วงเวลาการออกดอก และข้อมูลทางด้านนิเวศวิทยา รวมทั้งได้สร้างรูปวิธานระดับชนิด

     Three tribes containing, seven genera and 18 taxa, of the ginger family are found in Phu Phra Bat Historical Park, Ban Phue district, Udon Thani province. They can be used as food, spice, medicine, perfume and ornamental plants such as Alpinia galanga, A. siamensis, Boesenbergia rotunda, Curcuma angustifolia and C.singularis. The vernacular names, phenology and ecological information and a key to species are provided.
