การศึกษาความหลากหลายของพรรณพืชในป่าชุมชนเทศบาลตำบลเมืองใหม่โคกกรวด อำเภอเมืองจังหวัดนครราชสีมา ด้วยการวางแปลงตัวอย่างแบบสี่เหลี่ยมขนาด 5 x5 เมตร จำนวน 16 แปลง ร่วมกับการสำรวจทั่วทั้งพื้นที่ ผลการศึกษาพบพรรณไม้ทั้งสิ้น 69 วงศ์ 186 สกุล 241 ชนิด จำแนกเป็นพรรณไม้ต้นจำนวน 32 วงศ์ 78 สกุล 95 ชนิด วงศ์ที่พบมากที่สุดคือ Fabaceae จำนวน 22 ชนิด รองลงมาคือ วงศ์ Rubiaceae จำนวน 7 ชนิด พรรณไม้ต้นที่พบมากที่สุดในพื้นที่ ได้แก่ ตะแบกเกรียบ (Lagerstroemia cochinchinensis Pierre) จำนวน 973 ต้น รองลงมาคือมะค่าแต้ (Sindora siamensis Teijsm. ex Miq.) จำนวน 934 ต้นและตะโกนา (Diospyros rhodocalyx Kurz) จำนวน 498 ต้น พรรณไม้พื้นล่าง จำนวน 64 วงศ์ 154สกุล 197 ชนิด วงศ์ที่พบมากที่สุด 
คือ Fabaceae จำนวน 34 ชนิด รองลงมาคือ วงศ์ Poaceae จำนวน 12 ชนิด และ Malvaceae จำนวน 11 ชนิด พรรณไม้พื้นล่างที่มีการกระจายมากที่สุดในพื้นที่ได้แก่ มะลิวัลย์เถา (Jasminum siamense Craib) รองลงมาได้แก่ เปราะป่า (Kaempferia marginata Carey ex Roscoe) พังคี (Croton crassifolius Geiseler) ส้มเสี้ยว (Bauhinia saccocalyx Pierre) และขี้อ้น (Helicteres lanata (Teijsm. & Binn.) Kurz) ตามลำดับ สภาพพื้นที่เป็นป่าเบญจพรรณ

     Plant diversity in community forest of Mueang Mai Kokkruat subdistrict municipality, Mueang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province was studied. Sixteen plots of 5 x 5 meters and additional surveys were used for studying. Sixty-nine families, 186 genera and 241 species were found. The diversity of trees was 32 families, 78 genera and 95 species. The most diverse families were Fabaceae and Rubiaceae with 22 and 7 species, respectively. The dominant species of tree were Lagerstroemia cochinchinensis Pierre, Sindora siamensis Teijsm. ex Miq. and Diospyros rhodocalyx Kurz with 973, 934, and 498 individuals, respectively. The diversity of under story plants was 64 families, 154 genera and 197 species. The most diverse families were Fabaceae, Poaceae, and Malvaceae with 34, 12, and 11 species,respectively. The dominant species of under story were Jasminum siamense Craib, Kaempferia marginata Carey ex Roscoe, Croton crassifolius Geiseler, Bauhinia saccocalyx Pierre and Helicteres lanata (Teijsm. & Binn.) Kurz, respectively. The forest type of studied area is mixed deciduous forest.
