การศึกษาความหลากหลายของไลเคนเปลือกไม้บนต้นจันทน์ผา 
(Dracaenacochinchinensis (Lour.) S.C.Chen) และจันทน์แดง (D. jayniana Wilkin &Suksathan) ซึ่งเป็นพืชเด่นในระบบนิเวศเขาหินปูนบริเวณอำเภอหนองหิน จังหวัดเลย ระหว่างเดือนมกราคม-ธันวาคมพ.ศ. 2555 พบไลเคนบนเปลือกไม้ที่อาศัยบนผิวลำต้นจันทน์ผาจำนวน 11 วงศ์ 19 สกุล 36 ชนิด และบนต้นจันทน์แดง 10 วงศ์ 17 สกุล 34 ชนิด ค่าความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของไลเคน (alpha diversity) บนต้นจันทน์ผามีค่ามากกว่าต้นจันทน์แดงคือ 5.2±2.35 และ 4.4±2.79 ตามลำดับ และค่าจำนวนชนิดต่อต้นของไลเคนบนต้นพืชให้อาศัยทั้งสองชนิดมีค่าความคล้ายคลึงกันร้อยละ 68.6 นอกจากนี้พบว่าสมบัติของเปลือกไม้ เช่น ค่าความเป็นกรด-ด่าง และความลึกของรอยแตกบนผิวลำต้นของพืชให้อาศัย ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับจำนวนชนิดไลเคนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญการศึกษาในครั้งนี้พบไลเคนที่ไม่เคยมีรายงานมาก่อนในประเทศไทย 3 ชนิด ได้แก่  Hyperphyscia syncolla (Tuck. ex Nyl.) Kalb., Pyrenulainterducta (Nyl.) Zahlbr. และ P. leucotrypa (Nyl.) Upreti. ผลการศึกษาดังกล่าวสามารถนำไปปรับใช้กับการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูชุมชีพไลเคนเปลือกไม้บนพืชให้อาศัยในระบบนิเวศเขาหินปูนอื่นๆได้  

     The study of corticolous lichens on Dracaena cochinchinensis (Lour.) S.C. Chen and 
D. jayniana Wilkin & Suksathan, which were dominant species of vascular plants in limestone forest at Nong Hin district, Loei province. The exploration was done in January-December 2012 and found diversity of corticolous lichens in 11 families, 19 genera, 36 species on D. cochinchinensis and 10 families, 17 genera, 34 species on D. jayniana. The alpha diversity of lichens on D. cochinchinensis was greater than on D. jayniana, they are 5.2±2.35 and 4.4±2.79 respectively, with has 68.6 percent of species similarity. Moreover, some properties of bark e.g. bark pH and bark crevice depth were not correlated with number of species per plant. Within this study found three new species record to Thailand including Hyperphyscia syncolla (Tuck. ex Nyl.) Kalb., Pyrenula interducta (Nyl.) Zahlbr. and P. leucotrypa (Nyl.) Upreti. All results of this study could be applied for conservation and restoration of corticolous lichens on plants inhabited in other limestone forests.
