Abstract:

A new report in Thailand, Varronia curassavica Jacq. is described, illustrated and the taxonomic note is also provided. The pollen is a monad with radial symmetry, 3-porate apertures and reticulate sculpturing. The characteristics of leaf epidermal cells are rectangular, polygonal or irregular shapes with straight on the upper surface and undulated or sinuous anticlinal walls on the lower surface. The anomocytic stomata are on both surfaces and amphistomatic leaves are found. Three types of non-glandular trichomes and one type of glandular trichome are presented.
