การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความหลากหลายและสถานภาพทางการอนุรักษ์ของพืชที่พบในที่ราบน้ำท่วมถึง เขตห้ามล่าสัตว์ป่าหนองทุ่งทอง       โดยศึกษาภาคสนามตั้งแต่เดือนพฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2556 ถึงเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2557 พบพืชมีท่อลำเลียง 70 ชนิด จากอย่างน้อย 39 วงศ์ พบว่าเป็นพืชที่ใกล้สูญพันธุ์ (endangered species) 1 ชนิด คือ สักน้ำ (Vaticapauciflora Blume) พบพืชหายาก ตามข้อมูลพืชถิ่นเดียวและพืชหายากของประเทศไทย 2 ชนิด คือ มะม่วงปาน (Mangifera gedebi Miq.) และแคนา (Dolichandronecolumnaris Santisuk) พบพืชหายาก (rare) และพืชที่เกือบอยู่ในข่ายใกล้สูญพันธุ์(vulnerable species) อย่างละ 1 ชนิด คือ พุดน้ำ (Kailarsenia campanulata (Ridl.) Tirveng.) และจันทน์กะพ้อ (Vatica diospyroides Symington) ตามลำดับ แม้ว่าเขตห้ามล่าสัตว์ป่าหนองทุ่งทองจะมีความหลากหลายของพืชน้อยแต่พืชที่พบส่วนใหญ่จำเพาะกับพื้นที่หลายชนิดเป็นพืชหายากและถูกคุกคามดังนั้นเขตห้ามล่าสัตว์ป่าหนองทุ่งทองจึงมีความสำคัญในฐานะแหล่งอาศัยของพืชถูกคุกคามหลายชนิด

     This research aimed to study diversity and conservation status of vascular plants in Nong Thung Tong Non-hunting Area. The surveys were carried out from May 2013 to October 2014. A total of 70 species of vascular plants from at least 39 families were recorded. Vatica pauciflora Blume is an endangered species. Mangifera gedebi Miq. and Dolichandrone columnaris Santisuk are rare species according to endemic and rare plants of Thailand data. Kailarsenia campanulata (Ridl.) Tirveng. and Vatica diospyroides Symington are rare and vulnerable species respectively. Even though, Nong Thung Tong Non-hunting Area contains relatively low plant diversity, however, its flora is unique. Some of them are rare or threatened plants. These results emphasis importance of Nong Thung Tong Non-hunting Area in term of habitat for threatened and rare plants.
